Attara appoints The PHA Group to raise awareness of commodity price risk among UK SMEs

Independent communications agency, The PHA Group has been appointed by Attara, the commodities hedging fintech, to deliver a communications programme designed to raise awareness of commodity price exposure among UK SMEs, explain the role hedging can play in managing it, and strengthen the profile of the businesses and its leadership.

Against a backdrop of ongoing global uncertainty and unpredictable market shifts, many businesses are finding that commodity price movements can have a significant impact on margins, even when day-to-day operations are running smoothly. Attara works with UK businesses across haulage, agriculture, manufacturing and construction, helping them understand and manage their exposure to movements in fuel, agricultural commodity and metal prices. Its technology-led service is designed to give businesses greater visibility over future costs, supporting more informed budgeting, procurement and pricing decisions in volatile market conditions.

The PHA Group’s Corporate and Enterprise division has been selected to support Attara with strategic communications, including media relations, research-led thought leadership and executive profiling. The partnership will aim to increase understanding of commodity price exposure among UK SMEs, while strengthening Attara’s position as a specialist voice across fuel, agriculture and metals. The appointment draws on the agency’s experience working with ambitious fintech and B2B businesses and translating complex propositions into clear, credible stories.

Richard de Meo, CEO and Founder of Attara, says: “SMEs have historically been underserved when it comes to commodities hedging, despite being just as exposed to commodity price volatility as larger businesses. In many cases, lower volumes mean they’re not seen as big enough to receive the attention or tailored service they need from traditional providers.

“Attara exists to change that. We’re focused on serving this overlooked part of the market with a more accessible, technology-led approach, while raising awareness of the risks businesses face and the value of hedging as a practical tool. We’re delighted to be working with The PHA Group. Their creative and strategic thinking, and strong understanding of complex B2B and fintech communications, make them the ideal partner to help us tell that story effectively.”

Sarah Poynder, VP of Technology at The PHA Group, commented: “Attara is operating in a highly specialist space where clear, credible communications make a real difference. Commodity price movements have a direct impact on margins, cash flow and planning for UK businesses, and it’s important that the story behind solutions like Attara’s is told in a way that resonates with those realities.

“We’re excited to partner with Richard and the team and look forward to supporting Attara’s growth by translating its innovation into compelling stories about the practical impact of commodity price movements on businesses. Through stronger executive profiling and targeted communications, we will help key audiences understand the practical value that Attara brings in complex commodity markets.”
